(HealthNewsDigest.com) – Eric – Lehi, UT: Eric is a married father of two children who works in the construction industry doing stone work and building fireplaces. Maintaining affordable health coverage has been a big issue for his family, especially since his wife Mindy has Type 1 diabetes. He pays a $700 monthly premium to cover his family plus $200 each month for diabetic supplies through a policy he gets through his job. Eric has always dreamed of starting his own contracting business, but he hasn’t been able to because his wife’s pre-existing condition has made purchasing health insurance on his own too expensive. He’s had to pass up job offers because they didn’t come with insurance and his family cannot afford to let their policy lapse.
