(HealthNewsDigest.com) – As we transition into the warmers months of the year, there are officially no more excuses for avoiding a workout. As much as we dread this time, Erin Jacques, national yoga director and trainer for the New York-based Exhale Enterprises, Inc. is here to offer her own tips of how we can get started on getting fit, fast.
v Get Outside! It’s time to shift workouts to the fresh outdoors and be inspired by nature. Use a bench for step ups, push ups and triceps dips. Walking lunges can be done anywhere, up a hill obviously adds more intensity. Amp up cardio running, hopping or walking up steps or local bleachers. Or strike a few poses in an open space like a park or baseball field breathing in fresh air. Keep moving
v Tighten Up! The plank is one of the best exercise positions you can add to your workout routine. Whether it’s done on the forearms, straight arms or even the side, the plank is so beneficial to your entire body. It tones the arms, legs and most importantly strengthens the core and back body. Start with holding stillness for 1 minutes and work up to 2.
v Get Going! Spring out of your chair and get walking! It’s one of the healthiest exercises for the mind and body. It tones, builds strength, works the heart, boosts metabolism, helps increase bone density, and releases endorphins creating a natural high! When you’re outdoors (sunscreen!), walking raises vitamin D, creating more energy and peace of mind. Hydration is essential so choose a beverage like HINT Water that does not contain calories or sugars. What are you waiting for?
