I love to try new foods. Some are great. Some don’t measure up and some become staples in my kitchen. See what you think.
Arctic Zero is a unique ice cream product available in pints and bars. The pints have less than 150 calories per container.

(HealthNewsDigest.com) – All the flavors – Chocolate, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Coffee, Cookies & Cream, Mint Chocolate Cookie, Strawberry, and Vanilla Maple – are gluten free, fat free, low in sugar, non-GMO (no genetically modified ingredients), and kosher (Chof-K). The flavors are sweetened with organic cane sugar and organic monk fruit concentrate, a no-calorie sweetener made from a fresh fruit that is 150 times sweeter than sugar. Depending on the flavor, a ½ cup serving has 37 calories, no fat, 10 milligrams of cholesterol, 6 to 7 grams of carb, 5 to 7 grams of sugar, 3 to 4 grams protein, 2 grams of fiber, and 15 to 95 milligrams of sodium. Pumpkin Spice is the only flavor with 45 calories in a ½ cup serving. I voted Pumpkin Spice and Coffee as my best enjoyed flavors.
This past June Arctic Zero introduced 85 calorie, chocolate-coated, ice cream bars in Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, and Orange Cream flavors. The ice cream bars are not fat free but they are gluten free and sweetened with organic cane sugar and monk fruit concentrate. A 2-ounce bar has 5 grams of total fat (4 grams of which are saturated fat), 5 milligrams of cholesterol, 3 grams of protein, 7 grams of carb, 5 grams of sugar, 1 gram of fiber and 100 milligrams of sodium.
Neither of these products will convert a diehard premium ice cream lover but they are an alternative frozen dessert for those looking to lose weight, eat less fat, or for those following a gluten-free diet.
