(HealthNewsDigest.com) – NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., Dec. 9, 2011 — Board Certified Female Plastic Surgeon Dr. Tenley Lawton has noticed a new trend this holiday season at her Newport Beach-based practice. From injectables to mommy makeovers and breast augmentation, the hottest gift this season could be cosmetic and plastic surgery. Despite the economic downturn and the last few year’s lackluster holiday sales, 2012 seems to be a year of splurge for many of Dr. Lawton’s patients.

“It seems the patients I’ve seen for consultation over the last month are looking at 2012 as a year of rebirth. The bad economic times, while not totally gone, seem to becoming a more distant memory and people are ready to close that chapter, celebrate and start anew. From husbands buying their wives mommy makeovers to grown children purchasing gift certificates for injectables for their own mothers – it has been an interesting and busy holiday season,” says Dr. Lawton.

While most patients don’t choose to undergo the actual treatment until January, the preparation and gifting gained momentum right after the Thanksgiving break. “Typically patients don’t want to spend the holidays recovering from plastic surgery. January has always been one of my busiest months of the year, but this coming year it will be record-breaking,” claims Lawton.
