(HealthNewsDigest.com) – Keynote Presentation 1:30pm – 1:50pm: “Grow Your Brain” by Dr. Majid Fotuhi, chairman of the Neurology Institute for Brain Health and Fitness, and assistant professor in the Department of Neurology, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
Who: “Mental Athletes” who are competing include: Business Professionals, Students, Veterans, Athletes, Retirees, Soccer Moms and many more from across the United States.
Spectators: Free Admission
Memory Masters from across the country will be challenged to memorize:
* 500 random numbers
* A deck of shuffled playing cards
* 99 names and faces
* 50-line unpublished poem
And, that’s just the morning qualifying round! The final event for the “crown” begins after lunch. Eight fierce, but friendly, competitors will pit their highly-trained brains against each other to remember:
* 200 random words
* 125 bits of information spoken out loud by 5 randomly selected people
* 2 decks of shuffled playing cards
At 3:00pm — don’t miss a chance to witness 2008 Memory Champion Chester Santos leading the largest scale memory demonstration in U.S. history. Chester will show spectators his dazzling feat: he has memorized details about every single member of the 535-person United States Congress, including each Senator’s and Congressperson’s first name, last name, state, district number, assigned Congressional Committees, and special positions held within those committees.
