(HealthNewsDigest.com) – New York, NY – Another Fashion Week has come and gone. Models, photographers, stylists, makeup artists, editors, bloggers and of course, fashion groupies took over the streets of New York, Paris, London and Milan for four weeks. More than 300 designers presented their fall 2012 collections to journalists, buyers and the occasional celebrity. Top-trends that emerged from the runways included menswear-inspired styles to bold hues and exaggerated shapes. Amongst the fashion frenzy, emerged a young brand that quietly reminded us that fashion can be playful, wearable and dare we say, girly.
Tamasha, aptly named after a Persian expression meaning “joyful ruckus,” captures the essence of their contemporary knitwear label. Words like ethereal, willowy and nymph-like come to mind when describing Tamasha’s Spring/Summer 2012 line. “We wanted to add a personalized slant to the power-woman redux theme that’s been building through Fall,” says Haesu Kwon, a featured designer for Tamasha. “We focused on soft pastel accents and trims; and designed with double construction – slim on the inside, fluid on the outside. The entire collection has a graceful look, not tight or constricting but still body-aware.”
The brand offers modern and stylish knits and accessories that are made from cashmere, angora, merino wool, silk, banana and bamboo. Handcrafted in Nepal, every piece is designed with high quality fabric and workmanship that can be seen in the finishing of each garment. The collection also features incredibly luxe performance fabrications that are soft to the touch. These styles prove incredibly flattering for the female figure and boasting a superior fit that has helped build Tamasha’s dedicated customer base.
“Tamasha is the pure embodiment of simple sophistication, known for our love for clean lines and effortlessly chic looks,” says Haesu. “We infused romance, with vintage inspiration and modern individuality in every piece.”
PREVIEW: Fall/Winter 2012 Collection
Tamasha’s womenswear Fall/Winter 2012 collection is timeless and gives a nod to the feminine shape. Pieces are classic, chic and effortless, putting a twist on basics while stepping up the luxury factor. Colored in the most amazing muted, earthy tones, with the occasional color-blocking, the line is filled with easy, perfect accompaniment for the autumnal and rainy days.
The collection features “blocking” in several of its knitwear pieces, juxtaposing an array of complimentary colors and textures to put a new spin on traditional garments. The Fall/Winter 2012 collection is heavy on delicate yarns, such as cashmere and angora.
“I think our collection speaks to how real women live and dress today,” says the designer. “The Fall/Winter 2012 collection includes casual daily wear of softer and warm cashmere dresses, cardigans and sweaters in rich earthy hues to slinky color pop, offering a selection of convenient and comfortable items for women.”
Eco-Fashion: It’s Chic to be Green
What sets Tamasha apart in the industry? The line opts for ecological yarns, which prove both luxurious and environmentally conscious.
“I was particularly drawn to the brand’s mission to create eco-friendly pieces in vibrant colors and designs,” says Haesu. “Tamasha transforms knitwear, a timeless and quintessential fashion staple, into wearable art. Each piece is trendy and flatters women of all shapes and sizes.”
With its fall collection, Tamasha takes cues from contemporary fashion design. This parlays into ultra luxe and delicate yarns and textures, such as cashmere and silk. Though designed as fully functional apparel, this collection stands out in an otherwise uniform market, as it features both modern, fashion-forward silhouettes and unique workmanship.
