Seminar on Medical Marijuana in the Workplace from New England Employee Benefits Council, Boston, March 19

(HealthNewsDigest.com) – WALTHAM, Mass.-Feb. 19-A seminar on the implications of medical marijuana in the workplace will be held in Boston, March 19, by the New England Employee Benefits Council (NEEBC).

Employers are trying to understand the new Massachusetts law legalizing medical marijuana and what policies on workplace use they will need to consider. The seminar will cover the background and limitations of the law, implications of the law on the workplace, enforcing workplace drug policies and conducting drug testing, and best practices, policies and procedures to minimize risk of liability.

The speaker will be attorney Karina Schrengohst, an employment law expert with Royal LLP, a law firm in Springfield and Northampton.

The seminar will be held on March from noon to 2 p.m. at Ropes & Gray in the Prudential Tower, Boston.
