(HealthNewsDigest.com) – NEW YORK, NY – The New York City – Southern New York Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society will host Climb to the Top on Sunday, March 2, 2014, at 6:30 a.m. at 30 Rockefeller Plaza. The event is expected to draw 1,500 participants who will climb 66 flights of stairs to the Top of the Rock Observation Deck on the 69th floor of the famed New York City skyscraper. Participants will prepare for the event during the Taking Steps Warm-Up, which will be presented by premier event sponsor Biogen Idec and will feature inspiring people living with MS, including FOX News Channel meteorologist Janice Dean. The event is expected to raise $1 million to fund hundreds of comprehensive support services and programs for people living with MS and support the Society’s critical research initiatives.

Multiple sclerosis, an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system, interrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body.
