(HealthNewsDigest.com) – We’ve all heard the outrageous stories of specific requests actors and rock stars can have on their riders, but did you know that animal actors can have these in their contracts, too?
Take Casey the Bear. If you’ve seen a bear in a movie in the last few decades, chances are it was Casey, like in the Back to the Future series and the live adaptation of the Jungle Book. Casey was so in demand that even when the script called for a different species of bear, they put him in makeup.
But Casey had one very particular request for a treat whenever he was on set: KFC Original Recipe fried chicken. No other kind would do – not even the Colonel’s Extra Crispy. If there wasn’t a KFC close to the set, naïve producers would instead serve him whatever fried chicken they could find. Casey wouldn’t eat it, refusing to perform unless he could snack on Original Recipe, which sometimes meant flying it in just for him. Who knew a bear could have such a discriminating palate?
Casey’s tale is just one of many you’ll discover in our new book Animal Stars: Behind the Scenes with Your Favorite Animal Actors, now available everywhere inbookstores and online!
