(HealthNewsDigest.com) – When it comes to cosmetic procedures, everyone wants amazing results with the minimum amount of downtime. Until recently, such a dream has been written off as potentially impossible, however Sciton, a leading authority in the world of aesthetic lasers, may have made it come true, with the HALO Hybrid Fractional Laser. Because the HALO laser makes use of dual wavelengths in order to provide amazing results, the right doctor can carefully customize the treatment for each patient that visits him, according to their desired downtime, and unique needs.
Dr. Campbell is a renowned facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon, double board certified by both the American board of otolaryngology and the board of facial plastic surgery. Since 1995, he has been a member of the academy for reconstructive and facial plastic surgery, and today, he is offering patients the opportunity to test out the amazing HALO laser for themselves.
How is HALO different?
People who are new to aesthetic procedures often ask what makes HALO different from other laser treatments, such as pro-fractional options and even skin resurfacing. What makes HALO so amazing, is that it is the very first hybrid fractional laser in the world, capable of simultaneously providing ablative and non-ablative wave lengths as it is moved over the skin.
Ablative lasers have been frequently used as a way to remove the more obvious signs of aging from the skin, by removing damaged outer layers, forcing the surface to re-heal, restructure, and increase collagen production. The issue with an ablative laser, however, is that it generally comes with a large amount of downtime and recovery, up to two weeks.
A non-ablative treatment provides almost no downtime whatsoever. It heats the outer layers of the skin without removing them, allowing patients to return to business as usual immediately after treatment. The problem with this, however, is that usually several treatments are needed.
The HALO laser focuses its energy on the deeper layers of the skin, leaving the surface in tact so that you might heal quicker. It delivers the results of ablative procedure without the excessive downtime, providing the best of both worlds.
What can a HALO laser do?
With this treatment, patients may see improvements to:
ü Pores
ü Wrinkles and Fine Lines
ü Uneven skin tone and age spots
ü Issues with hyperpigmentation
ü Chickenpox or acne scars
Following your laser treatment
Generally, redness and swelling can be something of an issue after treatment is completed, and the area itself is likely to feel quite warm for up to twenty four hours. On the third day after your treatment, you might begin to notice small dark spots and a bronzed appearance throughout the treated skin.
This is all a part of the healing process, as the treated tissue begins to work its way out of your body, making room for the new skin. Throughout this process, you will notice that your skin has a sandpapery or dry texture, which can begin to peel and flake. Once this peeling is over, your skin will have a beautiful rosy glow which will eventually diminish entirely.
Sunscreen is essential throughout the healing process, and should be applied daily and used vigilantly for at least three months following your procedure. You may also be given a post-operative kit for helping you to exfoliate and cleanse the skin.
