(HealthNewsDigest.com) – People look into cosmetic and plastic surgery solutions for various reasons. More often than not, you will find that if you ask a person whether they dislike something about themselves, they’ll be able to point out six or seven different features within a matter of seconds. This is what brought cosmetic surgery into popularity, from eyelid surgery for a more youthful look, to a simple facelift, there’s potentially something for everyone.

Dr. Ross Clevens is the only plastic surgeon that has been board certified to perform between Orlando and St. Augustine. His focus on confidence and trust help him to build an astounding patient-physician relationship with every client he encounters, and he is recognized by colleagues and patients for his stunning attention to detail and skill.

The importance of rhinoplasty

The nose is an essential part of any person’s appearance, and it’s a fact that this aspect is easily noticed whenever we meet someone. Any deformation surrounding the nose can be difficult to cover up, which has led to the rising popularity of rhinoplasty surgery.

However, as skilled as many physicians are, and despite the numerous advancements that have taken place within the field of cosmetic surgery throughout the years, it is possible that the results of rhinoplasty may not always be suitable for the patient. This is not necessarily the fault of the surgeon, however, some people feel that they need something fixing in their rhinoplasty procedure because their appearance has not been adjusted to what they had originally imagined. Whatever the reason, if an individual feels that they need extra treatment, revision rhinoplasty is their next step.

About revision rhinoplasty

Revision rhinoplasty is utilized to fix about 15% of all rhinoplasty procedures performed within the United States, which either end imperfectly or produce results that the patient does not feel happy with. Although it is possible for surgeons to provide an estimation of what results a client might see, it is only possible to see the true outcome once the surgery has been completed.

In some instances, the nose itself may look perfectly fine on an aesthetic level, but suffer with a number of functional problems, including complications within the nasal tissue, it could collapse easily, and you could have difficulty breathing.

Types of revision rhinoplasty

The revision rhinoplasty process can vary dramatically in regards to how much surgery is actually required. Most of the time, the alterations that are performed during this procedure are only very small. For example, slight dips can be filled out, and small bumps may be filed down. This small defects can even be caused by patients who have accidentally damaged their nose in some way before it has healed properly from the primary surgery.

However, secondary rhinoplasty, or revision rhinoplasty, can become more complex when the damage that exists within the nose is not only present on a cosmetic level, but also impairs the functionality of the nose itself. When it comes to a reconstructive surgery such as this one, patients are advised to remember that surgeons are quite limited as to what they may be able to achieve.

Although all doctors will do their best to provide an aesthetically pleasing and perfectly functional nose, scar tissue that exists from a previous surgery, and previous alterations that have been made to the nose cartilage and tissue can all impose restrictions on the final result.
