(HealthNewsDigest.com) – I am often asked what is my favorite trim and terrific recipe, but narrowing down a favorite is always so hard – there are just too many! But this month I have done my best (with your help – thanks for helping them go viral on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and Pinterest)! Appetizers, brunch, dinner and dessert – for a party or for my family, I reach for these recipes time after time and I promise, you will too! It has been an amazing year cooking with you, and I can’t wait to see you in 2016!
Mediterranean Layered Dip – Make ahead, I prep this festive appetizer for every party I throw and I never get tired of eating it!
- As healthy as it is delicious – nobody ever guesses it is diabetic friendly!
- Look for different containers of flavored hummus (I love roasted red pepper) to give this recipe extra punch.
- For easy gourmet appeal pick up Kalamata olives from olive bar instead of using canned.
- Easily doubled or tripled to feed a crowd this party season!
- Terrific Tip: Serve with pita chips or sliced vegetables. You can easily make your own pita chips by cutting them into 6 triangles and baking 5-7 minutes at 375 ̊F.

Barbecue Shrimp over Cheese Grits: This Louisiana favorite with its superb sauce is taken to new heights when served on these Cheese Grits!
- My lazy version using peeled shrimp – just as good and no mess!
- If you are making the Cheese Grits ahead of time or need to reheat, you may need to add more liquid to bring back the creamy texture.
- Not just for brunch – I love this Shrimp and Grits recipe any time of day!
- If just preparing the BBQ Shrimp without the grits, be sure to serve with French bread or angel hair pasta to not miss one drop of sauce.

Stuffed Artichoke Casserole: Close your eyes and you’ll think you’re eating a stuffed artichoke.
- Terrific Tip: Prepare ahead of time and transfer to baking dish. Heat in 350°F oven 20 minutes or until heated.
- For vegetarian version, substitute vegetable broth.

Chocolate Pecan Pie with Honey Crunch Topping: Rich chocolate is combined with pecan pie and topped with delicious decadence for the ultimate finish to your holiday meal.
- Dig in guiltlessly, as pecans are rich in nutrition – antioxidants, fiber, vitamins, minerals and a great source of plant protein.
- This is one of my favorite tips – save time by picking up your favorite pie, add the Honey Crunch Topping, and it will look and taste homemade!
- Last minute gourmet! It is never too late to include this incredible topping, as it is added in the last five minutes of baking.
- Watch me make the topping here!
