(HealthNewsDigest.com) – Thanksgiving is the one time of year everyone seems to cook. Everywhere I go I keep getting asked about the best Thanksgiving recipes, so I decided to share with you some of my favorite traditional healthy, easy and fabulous recipes that I make year after year. Yes, they are trim & terrific as you can still eat healthier with all your holiday favorites. Cooking trim and terrific doesn’t mean you have to change what you eat, just how you prepare it. Here are some of my go-to holiday tips and my personal Thanksgiving menu.
Top 10 Time-Saving Thanksgiving Holiday Tips:
- Divide grocery list into shop ahead and fresh ingredients, and purchase non-perishable and frozen items ahead of time.
- Make ahead and freeze casseroles, dressings and desserts to cross off your list.
- Cut, chop and wash ingredients earlier in the week.
- Cook what you enjoy preparing and buy the rest. Order turkey. Garnish with fresh parsley and crab apples for personal touch.
- For cornbread dressing, pick up pre-made cornbread.
- Use your stovetop for sides to save oven space.
- Serve buffet style for meal and dessert.
- Take out serving pieces ahead of time and label. Set table ahead of time.
- For dessert, purchase theme napkins and plates for quick clean up.
- Make an easy centerpiece by filling a vase with cranberries to hold flowers.
