(HealthNewsDigest.com) – A booster shot of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine is recommended for some people who completed their two-dose series of the Pfizer vaccine at least six months ago. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommendations regarding boosters are as follows:
- People 65 years and older and residents in long-term care settings should receive a booster shot.
- People ages 50 to 64 with underlying medical conditions should receive a booster shot.
- People ages 18 to 49 with underlying medical conditions may receive a booster shot.
- People ages 18 to 64, who are at an increased risk for COVID-19 exposure and transmission because of occupational or institutional setting may receive a booster shot.
