(HealthNewsDigest.com) – Making good decisions in skin rejuvenation isn’t about slathering on every product available or finding one that is so much “better” than all the rest. Rather it’s about trying to incorporate at least some clinically proven ingredients that work in a complimentary fashion and are appropriate for your skin type.
Stick with the key active ingredients used in skin rejuvenation and go from there, such as:
• Retinol – ZO Skin Health Ossential® Radical Night Repair Plus
• Glycolic Acid – DDF Glycolic 10% Exfoliating Moisturizer
• Vitamin C (L-Ascorbic Acid) – Skinceuticals C+E Ferulic
• Peptides (Matrixyl, Argirilene) – Olay Regenerist Regenerating Serum
• Antioxidants (Coffeeberry, Idebenone, Green Tea) – Revaleskin Intense Recovery Treatment

Get in the habit of using SPF every single day first thing in the morning. Even if you are indoors more during winter, you are getting casual sun exposure. If you apply sunscreen every morning, especially to your face, it becomes part of your daily routine and you don’t have to think about it again. Try Estée Lauder DayWear BB Crème SPF 35 or Neutrogena Healthy Skin Face Lotion SPF15 that combine antioxidants with sun protection.

Apply sunscreen at least 30 minutes before going in the sun to all the skin that will be exposed, including nose, ears, neck, scalp, and lips. Sunscreen needs to be applied evenly over the skin and generously. It usually takes about 1 fl oz to cover the face and body of an adult. Neova DNA Damage Control Silc Sheer SPF 45 is a good choice for under makeup. Go for a cheap and cheerful range for the body since you’ll need a lot of it and it’s great value.

Think of foundation as treatment. Many foundation formulas actually work to make your skin firmer, more even toned and protect skin from UV rays. Choose the right kind for your skin type – oil-free or matte for pimple prone skin, hydrating or light reflective for normal/dry skins. Estée Lauder Futurist Age-Resisting Makeup SPF 15 and Lancôme Teint Miracle are good for skin over 35; Bobbi Brown Oil-Free Even Finish Compact Foundation won’t clog pores and prevents shine. Clinique Even Better Makeup SPF 15 is great for banishing brown gradually.

Take fewer hot showers and baths – super hot water and over bathing will dry out your skin and destroy the natural barrier. Apply a rich body lotion like Eucerin Daily Replenishing Moisturizing Lotion while your skin is still damp to let it soak in.

Keeping your weight stable will help delay sagging and loose skin folds. Maintaining a healthy weight keeps skin firm, taut and elastic. If you want to defy aging, stay away from cigarettes and alcohol, public enemies of healthy, youthful skin.
