Personal Trainer: Yeah, right! Who can afford one?

(HealthNewsDigest.com) - Now everyone can, thanks to Joan Pagano and her 15 MINUTE TOTAL BODY WORKOUT (DK Publishing, January 2008), one of the four books featured in DK’s brand new 15 Minute Fitness series. For $17.95, how can we afford not to keep that resolution by taking advantage of the invaluable advice, cutting-edge information, and, most importantly, incredible (and incredibly convenient!) workouts, all presented with easy-to-follow instructions and spectacular color photos? With the high-quality companion DVD and a realistic time commitment for people on the go, reaching our goal just got that much easier.

Pagano calls on her years of experience as a personal trainer and “trainer of trainers” to provide the fastest, most efficient workout program on the market. With minimal equipment, the four routines combine strength and cardio intervals for maximum calorie burning as well as markedly improved muscle tone and bone density. Each 15-minute fluid workout—Step Touch; Beach Ball; Hop, Jig, and Jump; and Lunge Around the Clock—presents different challenges and can be combined and/or rotated to keep our exercise routine fresh and motivating. The routines can be learned in the book and performed along with the DVD, with just a quick glance at the gatefold summaries that end each section for reminders of the sequence and proper form.

With Pagano as our personal trainer, the workouts are just the beginning. The 15 MINUTE TOTAL BODY WORKOUT also includes sections helping us assess our overall health and fitness levels so that we can tailor-make our own routines to meet our personal goals, designed with the help of Joan’s expert advice. There are myth-busting exposés as well as professional advice on how to make fitness less of a fad and more of a lifestyle. The four FAQ sections address common concerns shared by novices and experts alike. The book concludes with a handy guide to the major muscles in the body—cross-referenced with exercises from the routines—daily exercises to improve posture and alignment, advice on clothing and equipment, as well as bonus core conditioning exercises to help us reach our maximum fitness potential.

Finally, a workout that works with the time constraints of a busy life! Following these well-designed programs for just 15 minutes a day, three times a week, will yield significant and measurable results. All the benefits of a personal trainer in less than half the time and nowhere near the cost. It’s time to keep that resolution and get moving!
