(HealthNewsDigest.com) – Love is in the air, and if you are in the mood for a few aphrodisiacs, you will want to head straight to the kitchen to win your sweetheart’s affection with these recipes from Too Hot in the Kitchen: Secrets to Sizzle At Any Age from the Food For The Mood Chapter. With easy elegance and terrific taste, French Onion Soup is the perfect dish to set the mood of the evening. Include oysters in your menu with Baked Italian Oysters, as it was rumored that Casanova ate over 50 raw oysters a day to boost his libido. Oysters are high in zinc content, a mineral that aids in the production of testosterone. Or if “hot food” is your thing, it is said that heat generates a physiological response as when you get excited, so spice things up in your kitchen with the Crab Poblano Peppers! An added benefit is that spicy foods may also boost metabolism. The King Cake is my most requested recipe so I had to include it as Mardi Gras falls this month also. Make this a month to remember and enjoy all of the fun, food, and festivities of February!

French Onion Soup: The ease of this elegant rich-tasting dish will “wow” you!
The baby portabellas give the soup a rich earthy flavor.
I like to keep cooking wine in the pantry to have on hand at all times.

Baked Italian Oysters:The savory flavors of oysters, Parmesan cheese, red pepper, garlic, green onions, and parsley really pop and bring out the classic taste of New Olreans.
The Romans claimed oysters to be an aphrodisiac food; the verdict is up to you.
High in vitamins A, C, D and other important minerals, oysters are low calorie at only about 20 calories an ounce.

Stuffed Crab Poblano Peppers: Mild peppers stuffed with a creamy crab mixture wrapped with turkey bacon, give you the perfect balance of flavors.
Canned crabmeat or cooked shrimp may be used.
The poblano is a mild chili pepper – the red version is much hotter and spicier than the less ripe green version.

King Cake with Cream Cheese Cinnamon Filling: My personal favorite Mardi Gras tradition, made easy with a crescent roll crust with a sweet creamy inside and colorful icing.
I get bombarded with recipe requests every year and whenever I make it –easy enough to let your kids join in and help too!
The icing uses food coloring to represent the classic colors of the season – purple (justice), green (faith), and yellow (power).
Remember that color chart as equal parts of red and blue food coloring make purple.

Save room for dessert with this easy and eye-catching Strawberry Heart Cake.
