(HealthNewsDigest.com) – When Tim Fisher was ill with a cancerous brain tumor from 1990 to 2005, his wife became a cracker-jack online medical researcher. Low-Dose Naltrexone (LDN). This drug has been used since the mid-1980s by Bernard Bihari, MD, to treat autoimmune diseases and some cancers. Today this off-label, low-dose drug, costing $25-40 a month, is used by tens of thousands of patients worldwide-mostly patients with multiple sclerosis, but also patients with other autoimmune diseases, including lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, and Crohn’s disease.
