(HealthNewsDigest.com) – Miami, FL – Kim Kardashian is famous for hers – and no, it’s not what you think it is. Kate Middleton was critiqued by some for having one of the worst pairs in 2012. We’re talking about eyebrows – one area of the face that’s receiving major play right now. They’re holding stage in the beauty world – why? Because they can make an amazing difference in how you look. |
“Full eyebrows have been a big beauty trend for some time now, but some ladies are tired of having to fill in their own with wax and powders,” says Dr. Richard Chaffoo, a San Diego triple-board certified plastic surgeon. “Instead, women are now seeking effective, convenient and longer-lasting options in the hopes of getting thick, full and bold arches permanently.”
According to recent studies, plastic surgeons have seen a 30% increase in surgical eyebrow procedures in 2012; and that Megan Fox and Kim Kardashian’s arches are the most requested styles.
Introducing the NeoGraft
NeoGraft can be used for a number of reasons – such as male pattern baldness, scarring on the scalp and female hair thinning, but it can also be used to help with over-plucking or thinning of the eyebrows due to aging, trauma or disease.
Dr. Chaffoo sees patients concerned with hair loss on a regular basis and now offers state-of-the-art NeoGraft at his practice for those seeking fuller brows. What differentiates NeoGraft from other treatments? NeoGraft is a new hair replacement procedure that uses a vacuum like device to efficiently remove a healthy hair follicle from a carefully chosen donation site and quickly transplant it to a new location. The procedure is less painful than previous methods and has a high success rate because it takes less time to transplant an individual hair follicle, which improves survival rate and regrowth. It is minimally invasive and requires minimal recovery time.
How does NeoGraft work?
The NeoGraft FUE Hair Transplant device first uses a motorized punch that gently rotates around each individual graft in perfectly cylindrical shapes. The rotation of the punch is adjusted and customized for different skin types, based on each patients need. The device then uses a controlled pneumatic pressure, or suction, to slide out the follicles smoothly and uniformly. Resulting in no pulling and twisting as with forceps, which typically puts the follicle at risk for damage. The suction strength is also customized for each patient based in his/her skin type.
Specifically, the grafts are extracted from the donor area in a uniform manner, permitting the implantation of the graft to remain the same size and shape once in place on the treated site. The grafts are collected, stored and misted with sterile saline until ready to be implanted. The grafts are then inserted into the recipient site with the NeoGraft controlled pneumatic pressure implantation hand piece, which ensures an even and smooth process.
“The NeoGraft System harvests up to 600 grafts per hour allowing for a quick and less costly procedure,” explains Dr. Chaffoo.
Is there any scarring?
NeoGraft is the first FDA-approved minimally invasive automated hair transplant system, resulting in a natural look with no scarring. Since no scalpels or sutures are needed for the procedure, it leaves a patient with no scarring or stitches.
What is the recovery time following NeoGraft?
NeoGraft technology allows a quick and efficient process with a quick recovery time. Only local anesthetic is required and no intravenous or intra-muscular sedation is needed. As no scalpel incision and sutures are used, patients experience minimal discomfort. Unlike other surgical hair restoration methods, the hair follicles experience less irritation.
