(HealthNewsDigest.com) – Fuller eyebrows are gaining popularity among women. Women want the lush eyebrows they see on celebrities like Megan Fox and Brooke Shields. Burns, genetics, medical conditions, and excessive plucking or waxing can all lead to permanent hair loss on the eyebrows. If you’re tired of having thin spots or bald patches on your eyebrows, an eyebrow transplant may be the answer.

With eyebrow restoration, donor hairs come from the scalp and are placed through tiny incisions in the eyebrows. By keeping the incisions as small as possible, it reduces the risk of damage to healthy eyebrow hairs and keeps scarring to a minimum. The doctor manages the placement of the incisions to make sure the hairs grow in the right direction and at the ideal angle.

What to Expect During an Eyebrow Transplant

You will be given a sedative before the procedure. Once the sedative is working, one or two hairs are transplanted from the scalp into each incision. During one procedure, anywhere from 100 to 350 hairs are transplanted. Expect the transplant to take three to five hours.

There will be some redness for the first few days. After the fifth day, the redness usually goes away. You are able to get back to your normal routine by the end of the week. If the doctor used dissolvable sutures, they will disappear within four weeks. Otherwise, the doctor will remove your stitches a week after the procedure.

The transplanted hairs fall out about two weeks later, and then the new eyebrow hairs begin to grow about 12 weeks later. Because your new eyebrows grow at the same rate as the hair on your head, you do need to trim them regularly.

Eyebrow Transplant Cost

The actual eyebrow transplant cost depends on the number of hairs that the doctor needs to transplant to correct your thinning or balding eyebrows. On average, expect the procedure to cost $5,000 to $8,000.

Balding and thinning eyebrows often make women feel unattractive and insecure. Regain your confidence. Talk to eyebrow restoration specialist Dr. Jeffrey Epstein at one of his offices in Boca Raton, Miami, and New York City. Reach his Miami office at 305-666-1774 or complete the online form.
