(HealthNewsDigest.com) – Local, Organic, Plant-based – Which are the Most Compassionate?
What: United Poultry Concerns, Animal Place and the Berkeley Organization for Animal Advocacy host the 2015 Conscious Eating Conference which brings expert speakers to Berkeley, California to share their ideas about the best food choices for the planet, humans and other animals. Participants will explore the ethics of eating and the effect that each food choice has and why it matters.
The conference features a fearless investigator who went undercover to document the inside story of animal farming. Little known facts about the fishing industry, including factory-farm fishing and how the oceans are being affected will be discussed, along with startling new information about the consciousness and emotional lives of fish. Controversial strategies for farmed animal advocacy, especially the arguments raging over “single-issue” campaigns and confrontational activism in restaurants and supermarkets, are also on the agenda.
The program is free for students with ID (register at [email protected]); $15 for all others (register at www.upc-online.org/forums/2015).
