(HealthNewsDigest.com) – LAS VEGAS, Feb. 17, 2016  — Miracle Flights, the nation’s leading medical flight charity, coordinated 434 commercial airline flights for children and adults in need of out-of-state medical care during January 2016.

Based in Las Vegas, the nonprofit has provided financial assistance for medical flights so that seriously ill patients may receive life-altering, life-saving medical care and second opinions from experts and specialists throughout the U.S. since 1985.

Mark E. Brown, CEO of Miracle Flights, said, “We’re pleased to be able to help more people get to the medical care they desperately need. It’s heartbreaking to know that children, many of whom are born with rare diseases, are unable to reach the right doctor due to the high cost of airline tickets. We help as many kids as we can, but we also know that there are many more whose parents are not aware of our services. I’d like to encourage everyone to take action and spread the word about Miracle Flights so that more families can utilize our services.”
