(HealthNewsDigest.com) – If you want a glowing complexion that looks healthy and natural, there are several things you can do to improve the quality of your skin. Many of these methods don’t require costly products and treatments and are surprisingly easy to incorporate into your lifestyle. Here are a few different ways to make your skin look great.

Avoid Prolonged Sun Exposure

The sun’s harsh ultraviolet rays can damage your skin and make it age prematurely. Plus, being out in the sun too long can pose other serious health hazards. If you plan to be in the sun for an extended period of time, you should apply sunscreen or sunblock beforehand that has a high enough SPF level that’s suitable for your skin type.

Eat the Right Foods

Simply eating enough of the right foods can dramatically improve the quality of your skin. Consuming just two teaspoons of olive oil a day has been shown to slow the process of skin aging. Tomatoes, wholegrain oatmeal and green tea are other great foods for skin health. Contrary to what you might think, eating dark chocolate in moderation can actually be good for the skin due to its high levels of antioxidants.

Drink Plenty of Water

The hydrating effects of water can be highly beneficial for the skin. Even though you may think you already consume enough water every day, your intake levels could be insufficient without you realizing it. The specific amount of water you need per day depends on your body type, your fitness activity level and the location in which you live.

Tighten Up Loose Skin

Sagging skin might also be a problem for you, and there are few different things you can do to try to correct this problem. There are certain creams and lotions on the market that are formulated to tighten skin in certain problem areas, but their effectiveness is sometimes questionable. Aloe, lemons and cucumbers are also known to have tightening affects and can be applied directly to the skin. You may even elect to undergo a nonsurgical procedure like coolscupting or laser treatments to try to tighten up your problem areas.

Cleanse and Moisturize Daily

You can create your own daily cleansing and moisturizing ritual using a variety of store-bought products. Cleansing your skin regularly can be effective in removing dirt and oil that may cause blackheads and blemishes to form. Applying moisturizer can keep your skin from becoming dry and flakey and may also help you look younger.

Develop a Regular Fitness Routine

In addition to making your body stronger and healthier, working out can be beneficial for your skin. Exercising promotes better blood flow, which also increases the flow of nutrients to the skin. Sweating from exercise can further remove dirt from the skin’s surface.

It’s possible for you to achieve the clear, healthy skin you desire if you’re willing to take the right steps. Making a few simple changes and trying a few different techniques can lead you to the results you want.
