(HealthNewsDigest.com) – The healthcare space is so confusing right now for Americans to navigate, a recent article highlighted how new vertical of businesses are cropping up to fix this need.
What many consumers may not know is that there actually has been a company around since 2012 with the sole intention of helping consumers actually save real dollars and cents on healthcare…
MDsave, often referred to as “Amazon of health care,” is the world’s first and largest online healthcare marketplace. Users are able to compare prices, procedures, and doctors, regardless of whether they are covered by Obamacare, a private insurer or none at all.
Founded by Paul Ketchel, a former aide to Senator Bill Frist, MDsave combines Paul’s experience in the private and public sectors of healthcare to create a transparent process.
Here’s how it works. Users log onto MDsave.com and they are able to search for procedure needed (check-up, hip replacement, colonoscopy, etc.); location; specific doctor. A list of results pop-up allowing the user to comparison “shop.” Once an option is chosen, you actually purchase the procedure/visit online and print out a voucher that you present when you go for your appointment. There are no other costs after this point and by working directly with doctors and hospitals, MDsave allows consumers to receive discounts of upwards of 70%.
Based in Nashville, Paul is available for interviews. Below are his bio, and recent media clip. Please let me know if you have any questions or would like to arrange an interview with Paul.
