Constipation Concerns and Women

(HealthNewsDigest.com) – Constipation is a common issue for both men and women. Mayo Clinic defines constipation as having fewer than three bowel movements a week, but it varies from person to person. Fiber in your diet, fluid intake and exercise help many people get things moving, but for some some women, pelvic floor issues may add to the problem.

In this Mayo Clinic Minute, physical therapist Laura Meihofer explains how pelvic floor muscles impact how often you go, and offers tips on how to deal with the issue.
