For years, doctors called her back time and again, trying to figure out why she got sick, nearly every time she ate. It got so bad, Emma was forced to leave high school and take classes online.
“I mean every day, I’d call my dad up at work and say, ‘Oh, I only threw up seven times today’ – and that was, like, an accomplishment,” says Emma.

New National Emergency Shelter Standards for Children

(HealthNewsDigest.com) – The National Commission on Children and Disasters has partnered with the American Red Cross to develop a set of standards to address children’s needs in emergency shelters. The shelter standards are being made available to American Red Cross shelter managers, staff and volunteers throughout this hurricane season, and other local agencies that manage emergency shelters.
