(HealthNewsDigest.com) – Ken (yes, Barbie’s bf) has gotten a major new look. As part of its #TheDollEvolves campaign Mattel just rolled out 15 new and diverse Ken doll styles.

And he’s not the only man getting a 21st century makeover. A recent survey by theAmerican Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS), found that more men than ever are turning to cosmetic maintenance to look and feel their best. In a formerly female driven industry, the survey found that 31% of men said they are “extremely likely” to consider a cosmetic procedure – surgical or non-surgical.

Why the cultural shift? The modern man wants to stay competitive, relevant and marketable in a youth-driven dating game and workplace, according the survey.

Here’s what modern “man”tenance looks like at a glance:

  • Millennials and Gen Z lead: Of the 31% who are extremely likely to consider a cosmetic procedure, 58% were between 25-34 years old while 34% were 18-24 years old.
  • Confidence is king: 44% said they would have a treatment done to feel better about themselves.
  • Desire to feel desirable: 31% would be willing to make a “fix” to please a partner.
  • Look less tired / stressed: 31% wanted to look less tired and stressed. While 44% were most concerned with their skin and eyes.
  • Hair rules: 60% of men reported that their hair (or lack thereof) bothers them most.
